Education and Research

Teachers and academics from K-12 to colleges and universities have a significant role to play in educating the next generation of Fourth Sector practitioners. Possible activities include:

• In management schools, continuing to develop courses in social enterprise and related subjects such as organizational design and stakeholder governance. Incentivizing tenured faculty to champion such topics.
• Building intellectual capital in the area—-case studies, best practices, and more.
• Educating younger students in how to be “conscious citizens,” i.e., engaged participants in our civic and organizational life.
• Opportunities for original research for academics and researchers.
